Pinterest is gaining much popularity in the past few month and is growing faster than any other standalone site ever.
The connection between Pinterest and facebook is working pretty well so far, but despite the immense growth they haven’t released an official opportunity to embed your Pinterest profile as a tab on facebook yet. There are already some hacks out there which show how to embed your profile as a tab, but they are pretty ugly and look non-professional because the facebook canvas is narrower than the Pinterest profile. Anyhow a more professional and more appealing solution is to use the mobile version of your Pinterest profile instead of the normal version…
Below is a detailed step by step instruction how to add your Pinterest profile as a tab on facebook. No coding skills required
- Go to the iframe tab facebook app and click on the pin iconbelow to install a page tab.
- Choose your pagewhere you want to add the pinterest tab:
- Now go to your newly created tab and edit the settings. Therefore you have to give the app access first. Choose “URL” at “Page Source” and paste below the URL of your mobile Pinterest profile (e.g. http://m.pinterest.com/YOURNAME/). Don’t know your profile URL? Log into Pinterest.com click on your profile image and you will go directly to your profile on Pinterest. Then copy the URL and add a “m.” (for “mobile”). Adjust the height and click “Hide Scrollbars”Don’t forget to click “Save Changes!”…
That’s it. A pretty and clean Pinterest profile as a tab on facebook.
I wrote earlier an article about creating a pinterest profile tab by creating an own facebook application. The advantage is, that you can use the original Pinterest icon and you are not related to third-party apps. Unfortunately I failed because I got “CSRF verification failed” as a response. Did anyone managed to solve this issue?
